Musos for a Good Cause

On Sunday 30 June they will donate their time to play at a high tea in St Nicholas Church Hall, Floreat to support a cause close to the heart of leader Keith Carton, seated right. Friends of L'Arche supports young adults with an intellectual disability, providing gathering and friendship networks for their families, and Keith has been involved for five years. He has been on the Board and has provided the music for many of its events. For the past three years he has brought musician friends to the group's Christmas parties to lead the carol singing and to play their special blend of old time jazz with a dance beat and songs of hope. While some members of the band have been playing together in Perth since the mid sixties they are joined for this gig by Rev'd Stephen Gibbs, Rector of St Nich's on keyboard. Stephen also has a close connection with Friends of L'Arche, having served on its board, and through his work as chaplain for Crosslinks which also supports families of people living with disability.

Tickets for the High Tea (2.30-4.30pm) are $20 (($50 for a family) available at the door or at folperth@gmail.com or call 0422 300 414.

St Nicholas Church Hall is at 84-86, The Boulevard, Floreat, opposite Floreat Forum where there is plenty of parking.
