THE FOLP BOARD

Vera comes from a background working in corporate governance and administration. On first learning of L’Arche and of the efforts of Friends of L’Arche Perth, Vera wanted to become involved. She is now looking forward to growing her experience of the community, fellowship and spirit that is L’Arche and to visiting other communites.
Secretary: Chris King
As the parent of a daughter with an intellectual disability, Chris has long been an advocate for people with disabilities. She chairs the Board of Kira, a DSC-funded Support Service. She first heard about L’Arche from Canadian friends and was instrument bringing L’Arche to Perth after visiting communities in the eastern states.
Treasurer: Damian Cooper
Damian is a commercial lawyer practicing in Perth. He has served at committee level on a number of incorporated and unincorporated associations as well as on the boards of commercial companies. Damian joined the committee of Friends of L’Arche Perth Incorporated upon becoming aware of its good objectives and outcomes.
Anabelle comes from a background in health and disability and has a keen interest in spirituality. Building community within a spiritual framework through friendships and relationships is what drives Anabelle's spirit. Anabelle is looking forward to gaining more experience with the Friends of L'Arche Perth and other L'Arche communities in Australia. Anabelle currently worksas Senior Advocate in People with Disabilities (WA).
Derek is a Partner with KPMG in Perth, having recently moved back to Australia from a secondment in Canada. Derek started his career in Ireland where he met his Australian wife Paula.
Derek was a board member with L’Arche Saskatoon and is passionate about helping FOLP to meet the needs of its core members and their families. Derek has personal experience of living with family members with disabilities. Derek and Paula have two young boys, Tommy & Fionn.
Katy is keen to be a part of the L’Arche community and believes the philosophy and vision resonates with her own. She has a background in education and is passionate about well-being. She would like to expand community membership, strongly believing that we all have unique gifts to offer.
Emma has worked in the not for profit world for over a decade and brings with her a wealth of experience in fundraising, marketing, networking and general charity management. Emma has developed a heart felt interest in the well being and rights of young people with disabilities, after her teenage niece suffered a stroke.

Claire Lawler, L’Arche Australia Deputy Leader, is our Mentor. She lives in Hobart and finds time to support us to become full members of the Federation.
Rev’d Stephen Gibbs, Crosslinks Chaplain and Rector of the Anglican Parish of Floreat Park, has embraced the establishment of Friends of L’Arche, Perth. Stephen has been a board member and participated in a Retreat with Jean Vanier in Trosly, France, where L’Arche began.
